AI and Digital Security: Safeguarding Against Identity Theft

May 7 @ 16:00 - 18:00

appointments only

In today’s hyperconnected world, personal identity is no longer limited to physical documents or in-person verification. Our digital identities—composed of data scattered across countless online platforms—are increasingly at risk. This event will explore the evolving landscape of identity in the digital age, and how artificial intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in both enabling and preventing identity theft.

Key Topics Covered:

  • What is identity in the digital era?
  • Common threats to personal identity and privacy
  • Sources of personal data and the most common ways it is acquired
  • Identity theft prevention strategies and best practices
  • Identity verification: tools, techniques, and AI-enhanced methods

Why This Matters:
Recent findings from the EY Future Consumer Index 2024 show that 64% of Poles fear the theft of their digital data, while paradoxically, 62% are still willing to share their personal information. An overwhelming 80% of respondents are concerned about companies selling their data to third parties, and 79% fear identity theft. Despite this widespread anxiety, public awareness remains low, and access to counterfeit documents remains disturbingly easy.

Identity theft is not a one-time incident—it is an ongoing threat that requires a continuous and well-informed defense. Preventing it means understanding how data is harvested, recognizing criminal tactics, and using reliable tools to verify and protect identity.
